A study timer that lives in a tab, not an app store

You do not need another install to study with structure. This study timer runs entirely in the browser — on a PC, a laptop, a tablet or a phone — and remembers your intervals, tasks and stats locally on the device. Open the tab, pick a round length, press start.

It is built for real study sessions: the countdown shows in the tab title while you read or write in another window, a soft chime marks each break, and the timer counts with timestamps so it never drifts in a background tab.

How to use it

  1. Pick a station. Choose a 2-hour lofi mood mix — rainy night or morning café — and press play.
  2. Set your timer. Classic 25/5 pomodoro, longer 50/10 deep-work rounds, or your own custom intervals.
  3. Add your tasks. Write down what you're working on so each focus round has a target.
  4. Start. The countdown lives in your tab title, a soft chime marks each break, and the music keeps flowing.

Structure that survives a long evening

Studying rarely fails in the first twenty minutes — it fails in hour two, when breaks turn into scrolling and the session quietly dissolves. Timed rounds keep the shape: a 25/5 pomodoro for reading and review, 50/10 for problem sets and essays, or a full 60-minute block when you are warmed up.

Add lofi from the Lofi Cat radio or rain sounds if your room is noisy — or run it silent with just the painted scenery and the clock.

FAQ

Is this study timer free online?
Yes — free in the browser, no download, no account. Presets, tasks and stats are saved locally on your device.
Does it work on a PC without installing anything?
Yes. It is a website, so it runs on any PC, Mac or Chromebook in the browser. Pin the tab and the countdown stays visible in the tab title.
Can I use it on my phone too?
Yes — the same page works on phones and tablets. Your settings are per-device, since everything is stored locally.
What intervals should I study with?
Start with 25/5 pomodoro rounds. If you find yourself deep in a topic when the chime hits, move to 50/10 or a 60-minute round — longer blocks suit writing and problem-solving.
Does it have music?
Optional lofi and rain sounds are built in, streaming from the Lofi Cat YouTube channel. You can also run the timer completely silent.
Will the timer keep running if I switch windows?
Yes — it counts with timestamps rather than ticks, so it stays exact while you work in other windows, and chimes when the round ends.
