Lofi Timer — both the website (lofitimer.net) and the Chrome extension — is built to respect your privacy. The short version: the timer works fully without an account and keeps your data in your browser. Creating an account is optional, and if you do, you can delete it yourself at any time.
What stays in your browser
Your timer settings, presets, tasks, chosen scene and focus stats are saved locally in your browser (localStorage / the extension's local storage). Without an account this data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data removes it. Signing out removes the synced data from that device as well.
Optional accounts
You can sign in with your email or with Google. If you create an account we store:
- Your email address.
- Your membership status.
- Six sets of data that sync between your devices: focus stats, to-dos, timer preset, theme, saved soundscapes and postcards. Syncing is a Pro feature, so this data is only uploaded for Pro members.
Account data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and all of your cloud data yourself on the account page. Deletion removes your email, membership record and synced data from our servers. Data stored in your browser is not affected until you clear it.
What we do not do
- No selling or sharing of user data with third parties.
- No cross-site tracking or advertising profiles.
Third-party services
The website streams music via embedded YouTube players; when you press play, YouTube may set its own cookies and apply its privacy policy. The website also uses privacy-respecting analytics (aggregate page views only, no personal identifiers). The Chrome extension plays its own bundled music and checks whether the Lofi Cat channel is live; it sends no personal data.
